What Customers Say About Sony Two-Way Bluetooth Adapter for iPod and MP3 Players:

I hooked it up to my aging surround sound system with a mini-plug to dual RCA wire I happened to have lying around the house. I walk at least 35 feet away and the signal kept with me. So this little gadget interested me. What shocked me the most was the audio quality. I was a little skeptical at first.

So no need to "re-pair", no need to turn this thingy back on or off, no need to do anything except turn your speakers on, turn bluetooth on, press play. I can easily, without ANY worries, hook up my bluetooth and start listening to music in seconds. This unit doesn't go into sleep mode (as far as I can tell) so I simply turn my surround sound system on (making sure it is set to the right channel for my unit) and then I turn on the bluetooth on my device - pick music and go. I was expecting hissing, or dropped signal, but none. I can't speak for any other platform transmitting to it except the 3 Apple products I mentioned above - but it worked great with them. My goal was to have this thingy paired with: My Iphone 4.0, My Ipad, Wife's Iphone 3GS. So, this thingy does the trick. Easy setup. Of course, if I was in the master bath, I wouldn't need to be listening to music in my living room anyway.

I haven't found anything electronic that really works the way I want it to, but hey, I'm a perfectionist. I couldn't walk into the bathroom in the master bath (the receiver was in the living room). Quick, easy, sounds great. (It does NOT come with standard cables to plug into such devices).Okay, so I plugged it in - no worries. I was able to pair it with all three without any difficulties (followed directions).

I had no trouble with reception range - it would connect with my iPhone from the next room. Sound is typical Bluetooth quality - not as good as a wire, but decent. Works as advertised - good for connecting an iPhone or the like on an ad hoc basis to a stereo system. Keep in mind that it only supports the A2DP audio profile and not the AVRCP control profile, so you'll need to play/pause etc from the component generating the sound.

I have connected my laptop, 2 iphones and a blackberry via bluetooth and can play pretty much anything I want. I connected this device to my Bose lifestyle and now I am done with my wires.

Sound quality is quite good if not excellent - notwithstanding the digital-analog conversion done. No hassling with cables and the like. Meets my expectations 100%, as in general Sony products do. Excellent device. I can now play and control music from my Blackberry from my couch.

It's a little tricky setting up several devices. I use this to transmit music from my ipad to my stereo and it works well. Sometimes I have to re-establish the connection using ipad settings but that's pretty easy. I keep it simple by just using the ipad. I believe they say you should have line of sight but I have the bluetooth on the floor upstairs from where I use my ipad and it works OK (seems to transmit through the ceiling and floor OK). It works best when directly below and OK if I go 15 feet but drops off after that.
